Olympians, Roma Wolves have sights set on Primus Cup
With the CPSL moving into the first round of the League Cup, three teams, Toronto Croatia, Toronto Olympians and St. Catharine's Roma Wolves already have a strangle hold on the top positions.  In the League Standings, the top four teams advance to the Primus Cup hosted in London this year.

Last night both the Olympians and Roma Wolves won by 3-1 margins and widened the gap at the top of the table.  

Olympians, the only undefeated team in the CPSL edged the Astros 3-1 at Birchmount.  Scoring for the Olympians was Gus Kouzmanis who moved into second place in the scoring race, Elvis Thomas who kept his scoring streak alive since his return to the team and sits 5th in the scoring, and Danny Sanna got the Olympians' third.  Scoring the lone goal for the Astros was Kadian Lechy.

In St. Catharines, the Roma Wolves downed the Flames 3-1.  Gary McGuchan, who is having an exceptional year in the CPSL, scored twice for St. Catharines and moved into a third place tie in the scoring race.  Frank Delproire notched the third goal and Andy Methven was the only Flame to get on the score card.

League Cup
The CPSL now moves into League Cup action over the next 5 weeks.  The League Cup is one of three major competitions ran by the League.  The eight teams are split into two groups of four teams, Toronto Olympians and Toronto Croatia have been seeded 1 and 2 in the competition and the grouping is as follows:

Toronto Olympians
London City
Glen Shields Sun Devils
Oshawa Flames
Group B
Toronto Croatia
North York Astros
York Region Shooters
St. Catharines Roma Wolves

Each team plays each other team twice in their group (home & away), the top Two teams in each group automatically qualify for the semi-finals scheduled for Birchmount Stadium September 22nd.

The fourth place team in each group is eliminated from the competition.  The second and third place teams cross over (i.e. 2nd place team group A plays 3rd place Group B, in a home and away format, the winners advance to the Semi-Finals.
