CPSL game called off for 'unpainted field'
by Rocket Robin

The Wednesday July 19th CPSL League game between York Shooters and Oshawa Flames at Richmond Green in Richmond Hill was cancelled tonight as the referee ruled the field was unfit to play.

There'd been a lot of rain in the last few days and the lines were almost completely rained out. Nice try that officials for the Shooters tried to spray paint the lines but 'too little too late'. It felt like the wrong kind of paint too because it stayed wet when I felt it 20 minutes later.

I don't know who's to blame for the ground crew not making the field playable.

The cancellation disappointed the players and the maybe 40 fans who showed up.

The league has cancelled eight games this year and there might be trouble squeezing in all these games without extending the season into November!

If any one has any more details, please add to this thread.
