London City scores big on weekend & Shooters get first win
London City moved to the top of Group A in CPSL League Cup action on the weekend with back to back wins over Toronto Olympians and Oshawa Flames.

On Friday night at the Cove, City shutout the struggling Olympians 2-0 on goals by Tonino Commisso and Chris Piganco.  Sunday, City travelled to Civic Stadium in Oshawa and again recorded a shutout edging the Flames 1-0.

In other Group A action Glen Shields Sun Devils kept their sights on a playoff position tying the Olympians 2-2 at Dufferin/Clark Stadium.  The one point kept them in second place.

In Group B action York Region Shooters recorded their first win in Cup play downing the Astros 2-0 as Ester Shiner.  Astros had been impressive in their first two Cup games tying Toronto Croatia and St. Catharines Roma Wolves who both currently share first place in Group B.  These two teams meet Wednesday night at Centennial Stadium for the battle of the group.  Kick-off time is 8:00 p.m.
