Olympians remain undefeated in League Play
Toronto Olympians won back to back games on the weekend and moved to the top of the League Standings.  On Friday night, Olympians shutout Toronto Croatia 1-0 at Centennial Stadium.

In a match that saw Chris Handsor traded hours before the game to Toronto Croatia from the Olympians in a cash transaction, it was a game that the Olympians wanted to win if they are to three-peat for the League Championship.  It wasn't until the 51st minute that Elvis Thomas scored to give the Olympians the 3 pts.  Chris Handsor scored on what appeared to be the equalizer at the 70th minute, only to have his goal called back when Referee Manuel Orellano called Handsor for pushing from behind.  Croatia did not protest the call and Olympians held on to win.  On Sunday Brian Bowes recorded his second shutout of the weekend blanking the Shooters 3-0.  Gus Kouzmanis lead the Olympians with two goals and now has his sights set on his second CPSL scoring title.

In other CPSL action St. Catharines Roma Wolves kept their hopes alive for the title downing City 2-0 at the Cove.  Toronto Croatia dropped two games on the weekend yet remained in second place with St. Catharines.  These two teams meet Wednesday night at Club Roma in what should be an exciting match up.  A victory for St. Catharines would move them into a tie for first place with the Olympians.

Glen Shields Sun Devils are Hot
Glen Shields Sun Devils moved into sole possession of fourth place in the standings in a shoot-out at Dufferin/Clark edging Toronto Croatia 4-3.

In a game that saw two players red carded (one from each team), six yellow cards and seven goals, it was a match that had excitement and drama.  Glen Shields lead 1-0 at half time on a goal by Agostino Vaglica.  The Sun Devils went up 3-0 only to see Toronto Croatia come back and tie it 3-3, scoring three goals in 11 minutes.  Dave McDonald scored the winner in the 90th minute giving the Sun Devils the 3 points, opening a 4 point margin between them and London City.

In Oshawa the Flames and Astros battled to a 1-1 score.  Both teams remained tied for last place in the standings.
