North York Astros 2, York Region Shooters 0
St.
Catharines Wolves defeated Durham Flames, 3-1, in the opening game of the season
for both teams played at the Civic Stadium in Oshawa.
Goalscorers for St.
Catharines were Carlo Arghittu, Gary Hughes on a penalty kick and Gary McGuchan,
while Greg Patton replied for the Flames. It was 2-1 at half-time.
North
York Astros blanked York Region Shooters, 2-0, on first half goals in the season
opener for both teams at Crosby Park in Richmond Hill.
Gaston Bizera and
Istvan Dombodari were the scorers. Luciano Miranda earned the shutout in goal
for the Astros.
The Glen Shields v. Toronto Croatia game was postponed
because of the heavy rain during the afternoon.
