HITMEN WHACK LONDON CITY

London City may have dominated the play but when the final whistle sounded yesterday in Brampton, City was on the losing end of a 3-2 Canadian Professional Soccer League loss to the Bramton Hitmen. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, City tied it early in the second when Jurek Gebczynski found the back of the net on a nice feed from Gentjen Dervishi at the 46-minute mark. Ten minutes later, Gentjin Buzali put City up 2-1 on a header off a corner kick from 14 yards out. London continued to control the play but in the 76th minute, City 'keeper Abe Hadzic was injured when he slammed his back into the goalpost while making a save. It didn't take Brampton long to even the score at 2-2 when Phil Ionadi lopped a headball over new City goalie Scott Mueller. In the 90th minute, a defensive miscue by pair of London defenders and a misread by Mueller left Adolfo Mella with an empty net from 12 yards out for the victory. City is back in action Wednesday night when the team travels to Toronto to play Croatia, returning to Cove Road Field on Friday night for an exhibition game with the University of Louisville.
