Only the second scoreless draw I've seen in 22 games this
year. This game was actually quite exciting. There were a limited number of
shots on net as the defenders covered most shots into the box and cleared when
needed.
Best chance that was actually a shot on net was in the 76th
minute when Supra's Ryan Gamble passed to league leading scorer Samuel Afriyie
for a 40 yard breakaway and his 20 yard shot was caught by goalie Richard
Goddard just above his head.
Goddard has the ability to throw a ball
accurately 60 yards ahead to start a Wizards rush. Sanjeev Parmar takes all the
long throw-ins and Rick Popazzi takes the cornerkicks. Allan Popazzi and Rick Popazzi are brothers.
Wizards looked
like the team that would win the league title with so many games in hand but
they do have to win these games to step into first and they have a rough
schedule.
Another two Voyageurs at the game and I said hello to two
members of the (W-1 Women's League) Ottawa Fury in the crowd.
