JOLIETTE, Que. -- Two goals inside a minute by Jose Guerra
spurred the Montreal Dynamite to a 3-0 Canadian Professional Soccer League win
over London City yesterday.
Guerra opened the scoring in the 78th
minute, converting in a goalmouth scramble after three City players tried -- and
failed -- to clear the ball away. Guerra then connected on a 20-yarder a minute
later, and Karl Stephen rounded out the scoring three minutes into injury time
on a 15-yard chip.
"We played well enough for the point," said City
general manager Harry Gauss. "We've been on the road since 6:45 this morning, so
we're pretty tired."
Gauss wasn't overly keen on the officiating
either.
"It was atrocious. You need the officiating to be at par to
play the defensive game we tried to play today, and it wasn't."
City
is in Ottawa today to play the Wizards at 4 p.m. and returns home Friday to play
Glen Shields at Cove Road Field at 8:38 p.m.
