PENALTY HAT TRICK FOR GLASGOW
In Sunday's game at Esther Shiner Stadium where North York Astros hosted the Glen Shields Sun Devils, Mike Glasgow of Glen Shields scored a unique hat trick - all three of his goals coming from penalty kicks. He scored two in the first half at the 21st. and 31st. minutes with his third coming in the 77th. minute. Also scoring for the Sun Devils were Marco Antonucci in the 50th. minute, Ramin Kaiaefar in the 80th. minute and Robert Irvine completed the scoring with a goal in the 89th. minute to make the final score 6 - 0 in favour of Glen Shields.

In Sunday's second game, London City were visiting York Region Shooters at Richmond Green and came away with their second 2 - 2 tie of the weekend. The rain that fell throughout the game became torrential towards the end of the first half and through most of the second half. Both teams adapted well to the poor conditions and were able to play an exciting game of soccer although somewhat humourous at times as players lost their footing and slid about on the waterlogged field.

London City opened the scoring in the 14th. minute as Tonino Commisso headed in a cross from the right wing. John Bottineau tied the score at 1 - 1 with a goal for the Shooters in the 24th. minute. The second half saw the Shooters take the lead in the 51st. minute with a goal from Adrian Sciarra. York Region Shooters kept the lead until the 77th. minute when they were unable to clear the ball from their own goalmouth and London City's Jurek Gebczynski put the ball into the net for the tying goal.

After missing an opportunity on Friday night to move back into top spot in the league standings, the one point London City earned on Sunday at least tied them on points with league leaders Toronto Olympians. Glen Shields win kept them in third place, just two points behind the leaders.
