OLYMPIANS MAINTAIN PERFECT RECORD
Wednesday's action featured league leaders Toronto Olympians visiting third place Glen Shields Sun Devils. The Olympians maintained their perfect record to start the 1999 season by winning their fifth game in five starts and scoring twenty-two goals while conceding only one.

Glen Shields had only conceded three goals in their first five games and were expected to give Toronto Olympians their toughest game to date. The first half confirmed pre-game opinions as there were few chances for either team and no goals. However, in the 63rd. minute, Elvis Thomas finished off a nice move by the Olympians to rifle the ball into the net and the Olympians into a 1 - 0 lead. Chances continued to be scarce although Glen Shields had the Olympians penned into their own goal area at one point but were unable to score the equaliser. With just three minutes left in the game, a defensive miscue allowed Elvis Thomas in to score his second of the game and give Olympians a 2 - 0 win.

After conceding the first goal of their first game of the season to York Region Shooters, Toronto Olympians have now scored twenty-two goals while conceding none in over 443 minutes.

In Wednesday's other game, York Region Shooters travelled to St. Catharines but returned home pointless. St. Catharines opened the scoring through John Sozio in the 18th. minute and went in at half time with a 1 - 0 lead. In the second half, Frank Zumpano scored at the 51st. minute mark and Keith Moore added a third in the 75th. minute to send the crowd home happy with a 3 - 0 win.
