Ron Belfon opened the scoring for the Olympians in the 27th. minute and Elvis Thomas made it 2 - 0 with a goal in the 43rd. minute. The three points kept the Olympians perfect record for the season with seven straight wins in League and League Cup play. This was Oshawa Flames first game in the League Cup.
In Group 'B' action, Glen Shields Sun Devils hosted Toronto Croatia. The two teams had met last Sunday in regular league play with Glen Shields winning by a 3 - 1 score but the tables were turned this time and Toronto Croatia came away with a 2 - 0 win. The first goal came shortly before half time as a shot from Tom Granic was only blocked by Adam Morandini in the Glen Shields goal and Andy Madeiros picked up the rebound and put the ball into the net. Croatia's second goal was scored by Robert Mandekic in the 37th. minute. Although the Sun Devils had numerous scoring opportunities, the Croatia keeper, George Azcurra, played well to pick up the shut-out.
