TORONTO--Rick Titus scored the only goal of a six-round shootout to give the Toronto Lynx (11-8) their first win since June 20, 2-1 over the Rochester Rhinos (10-9) Friday at Varsity Stadium. The Lynx remain one point behind second-place Rochester, who have lost five straight, in the Northeast Division. The deciding goal was hotly disputed by the Rhinos, who claimed Titus had failed to get his shot off within the allotted five seconds. Rochester midfielder Tommy Tanner and Coach Pat Ercoli were ejected following the shootout. Paul Stalteri scored in the 33rd minute to break a 596-minute Toronto scoring drought. Martin Dugas passed the ball in from the right wing, and Stalteri slipped it just inside the post to put the Lynx up 1-0. Jimmy Glenn equalized three minutes into the second half, flicking the ball just out of goalie Pat Onstad's reach. Onstad finished with 10 saves to keep Toronto in the game. Scoring:
