Needham in the Eye
Overtime loss deals Lynx a setback.

TORONTO--Grant Needham slammed home a rebound with seconds left in overtime to give the Montreal Impact (16-5) a 1-0 win over the Toronto Lynx (13-9) Wednesday at Varsity Stadium. Montreal now holds an 11-point advantage over Toronto at the top of the Northeast Division, and evens the season series between the teams at 2-2.

The Toronto defense had blocked two shots, and goalie Pat Onstad snagged one, before Needham sent the deciding shot into the net from 15 yards.

Montreal 'keeper Paolo Ceccarelli stopped six of Toronto's 15 shots, including a point-blank scissor kick by Mike Gioia in the 83rd minute that was Toronto's best scoring chance.
