PICTURE GOAL BY THOMAS BEATTIE GIVES LONDON CITY THE TIE.........Hamilton Croatia and Galaxy remain unbeaten with 2-2 tie
2010-06-11

FC Hamilton Croatia recovered from a 2-0 deficit late in the first half to tie Brantford Galaxy 2-2 at Brian Timmis Stadium in Hamilton, while London City and Serbian White Eagles played to a 1-1 tie at Cove Road in London, two games in the CSL Friday night.

Uros Stamatovic opened the scoring for Serbian White Eagles just 3 minutes into the game when he drove the ball past London keeper Scott Mueller from 6 yards and London tied the game on a picture goal by midfielder Thomas Beattie at 28 minutes. Beattie struck a free kick from the edge of the penalty box into the top right corner, a drive that left Serbian Eagles' goalkeeper Milos Kocic with no chance on the save.

Forward Miodrag Andjolkovic gave Brantford the lead at the 30th minute mark against Hamilton Croatia and the Galaxy went ahead 2-0 two minutes later when Drazen Govic scored from 35 yards.

Midfielder Danny Jirta scored for Hamilton at 41 minutes to reduce the Galaxy lead to 2-1 at the interval and the tying goal came from Croatia's Aidan O'Keefe from the penalty spot.

Brantford pressed for the winner in the late stages, but Hamilton Croatia defender and team captain Antonijo Zupan was one of several strong on defence and the game ended 2-2.

The result means both remain the only unbeaten team in the CSL First Division with Hamilton Croatia in second place in the standings, while the Galaxy are third, both teams trailing the division leader, York Region Shooters.

There is one game in the CSL on Saturday when Montreal Impact Academy host St. Catharines Wolves at the Saputo Stadium, a 1 pm start and there are three games in southern Ontario on Sunday
