Portugal FC earned a well deserved 2-0 victory over Montreal Impact Academy despite being shorthanded most of the second half at the Saputo Stadium and in one other game played in the CSL Saturday, Toronto Croatia had a distinct edge in the play, winning 3-1 over TFC Academy at Brockton Stadium.

Forward Jarek Whiteman took a pass in the open space to beat Montreal goalkeeper Dominic Provost from 16 yards for the opening goal at the 34th minute mark and Luca Forno headed in the second for Portugal FC just before half time, a 2-0 lead at the interval.

It was a well-played even second half during which at 63 minutes Portugal FC defender Branko Majstorovic was shown the red card for Serious Foul Play during an untidy challenge on a Portugal FC forward.

The game ended 2-0 for the visitors, to give Portugal FC an improved 6-6-2 WLT record for 20 points for 6th position in the standings.

Toronto Croatia had a distinct edge in their win over TFC Academy and it was defender Ante Zurak who opened the account for the visitors at the 24th minute. This was followed six minutes later with a goal by midfielder Tomislav Leko who found the roof of the net from close range to give Croatia a 2-0 lead at the interval.

Nicholas Lindsay scored for TFC Academy at 56 minutes for a 2-1 score, but Toronto Croatia came back just two minutes later to increase their lead to 3-1 with a goal by the prolific Tihomir Maletic who moved round TFC goalkeeper Garrett Cyprus before finding the net. It was Maletic's 9th goal of the season for a 3-1 final score.

Toronto Croatia step into seventh position in the standings with 17 points from a 4-2-5 record, while TFC Academy are in 5th spot with a 7-4-3 record for 24 points.

There are three games in the CSL Sunday, starting with the visit of Brantford Galaxy to Victoria Park for a clash with Brampton Lions at 3 pm, the Astros are at home to London City at Esther Shiner Stadium, that's at 3.45 pm and Milltown FC go to Maple for a game with York Region Shooters, a 6 pm kickoff.
