SERBIAN WHITE EAGLES MARCH ON...........12 games undefeated to top the standings
2010-08-10

Serbian White Eagles continued their relentless pursuit of the CSL league title with a 4-0 defeat of St. Catharines Wolves Wednesday night and while the winners go on top, the Wolves may now be left with just one objective, to avoid being the last of 13 in the CSL league standings.

Serbian Eagles were quick to go on the attack but it took most of the first half before the visitors found the net when forward Kiril Dimitrov drove the ball from 22 yards to the right of Wolves' goalkeeper Claudio Perri to find the net.

It was Dimitrov who made it 2-0 just five minutes later for a 2-0 Serbian Eagles lead at half-time.

Forward Sasa Viciknez drove the ball into the net from 20 yards to make it 3-0 at 65 minutes and Shawn Brown completed the scoring at 74 minutes for a 4-0 final score.

Serbian White Eagles take a 2-point lead over York Region Shooters to preserve an unbeaten streak that now numbers 12 games, last year's CSL championship finalists could be in a commanding position, having played three fewer games than the Shooters and Milltown FC and four less that FC Hamilton Croatia.

The Eagles have a 9-1-3 WLT record for 30 points, while St. Catharines Wolves are at the other end of the spectrum with their 11th loss of the season for a 2-11-2 record for 8 points.

A test for Serbian White Eagles will come on Sunday when they meet York Region at Maple. The two teams met at the beginning of the season and Serbian Eagles prevailed, 3-0.
