A late goal by Montreal Impact Academy gave the Quebec team a 2-2 tie with visiting Brampton Lions at the Saputo Stadium in Montreal Saturday, while on Friday night, TFC Academy defeated Portugal FC 3-1 and the FC Hamilton Croatia vs. Toronto Croatia game was abandoned at half-time.

Brampton's Daniel Cameira opened the scoring for the visitors, he struck at the 12th minute mark and Brampton looked strong during the first half to hold the lead until just before half-time when midfielder Kevin Cossette tied the game for Montreal.

He beat Lions' goalkeeper Roy Blanche but not before Montreal assistant coach Olivier Brett was ordered off the bench and out of the game and player Bastien Bourgault was dismissed at 21 minutes following a second yellow card.

Cossette's goal came at 23 minutes for a 1-1 score at the interval.

Into the second half both teams had opportunitites, but it was Brampton striker Daniel Nascimento who put the Ontario team into a 2-1 lead at 71 minutes.

Six minutes later, Mike Marchese of Brampton was shown a red card, but as the game progressed it still appeared the Toronto area team were taking away three valuable points in their bid for a playoff position until the academy team scored just before the end.

Forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel spoiled the day for the Lions when he found the net from about 6 yards at 92 minutes - a 2-2 final score.

Montreal Impact Academy have a 4-8-5 record for 17 points, while Brampton Lions finally reached the eighth position in the standings - the cut-off point fr the playoffs - with a 5-8-3 record for 18 points

On Friday night, forward Tristan Jackman opened the scoring for TFC Academy at the 44th minute mark for a 1-0 score at the interval. The academy team increased their lead to 2-0 when at 58 minutes Dino Gardiner drove the ball to score from just outside the penalty box.

With the score at 2-0, Portugal FC were awarded a penalty following a tripping incident and Adrian Pena drove the ball against the upright, to collect his own rebound and score.

TFC Academy kicked off following Pena's goal and made their way directly to goal for midfielder Joshua Janniere to find the net for a 3-1 lead at 87 minutes, which was the final score.

TFC Academy shoot up to third position in the league standings with a 8-4-3 WLT record for 27 points, while Portugal FC are at 6-7-2 for 20 points.

Also on Friday night, Toronto Croatia took a 1-0 lead against FC Hamilton Croatia on a goal after just one minute of play by Tihomir Maletic, his 10th of the season. Following a hard-fought, well played first half the game was abandoned following an incident between a player and the referee just before the half-time whistle at Brian Timmis Stadium.

The result will not immediately be included in the standings and the league is expected to decide if the game is considered played or if a replay is necessary.
