TORONTO CROATIA WIN 3-0 AND MOUNT BID FOR PLAYOFF SPOT....London City and Brantford play to 2-2 tie

Toronto Croatia have five games still to play and Wednesday night they mounted a bid for a playoff berth with a 3-0 defeat of St. Catharines Wolves. In one other game in the CSL, London City played a rare Wednesday night game at The Cove and tied 2-2 with Brantford Galaxy.

Toronto Croatia striker Tihomir Maletic, the league's leading scorer, opened the scoring at 11 minutes with his 15th of the season at Club Roma, he collected a rebound off St. Catharines' goalkeeper Claudio Perri to send the ball into the back of the net.

Croatia forward Niko Pesa made it 2-0 at 66 minutes with a low shot into the corner of the net and 93 minutes Hayden Fitzwilliams made it 3-0, the final score.

Toronto Croatia improve to 7-5-7 WLT for 28 points which lifts the Mississauga-based club to eighth in the standings, While St. Catharines Wolves remain at the foot of the table with a 3-14-4 record for 13 points.

Andrew Loague opened the scoring at 19 minutes for the home side in London, he scored with a shot that entered the net off the post, but at the 40th minute mark Brantford equalized with a goal by Ranko Golijanin.

Brantford took a 2-1 lead on a goal at 51 minutes by Miodrag Andelkovic and eight minutes later London City tied 2-2 on an own goal scored when a cross by City's Stuart Wright was diverted into the net by Brantford defender Stanko Karacic.

Both side's pressed for the winner and London City striker Thomas Beattie came close but a spectacular save by Galaxy 'keeper Ante Domjanovic kept the score at 2-2 to the final whistle.

Brantford Galaxy are still seeking a playoff berth with 9-8-4 for 31 points and seventh position in the table, while London City are eliminated from the playoffs with a 3-11-7 record for 16 points and three games remaining.
