St. Catharines Wolves ended the season in a chippy encounter more reminiscent of early season soccer as they defeated Brantford Galaxy 2-0, and in one other CSL game played Friday night, York Regions Shooters tied Toronto Croatia 2-2.

St. Catharines looked like a winner most of the game at Lions Park in Brantford after taking an early 1-0 lead at the 7th minute mark on a goal by defender Danny Gallagher, but the visitors lost midfielder Scott McLennan who was shown the red card for Serious Foul Play five minutes before the interval in a chippy encounter.

Five minutes after the interval St. Catharines went two ahead on a penalty kick goal by Carlo Arghittu who beat Jeff Martin in the Brantford goal for a 2-0 lead.

The game ended 2-0 for St. Catharines to improve their season record for a final 4-16-4 WLT, which is good for 16 points, but the Garden City side still finished in last position in the 13-team CSL First Division. Brantford Galaxy ended their regular season with a 9-10-5 record for 32 points and the Galaxy move to the playoffs next week.

York Region Shooters added an insurance point to their league title win, the 2-2 tie with Toronto Croatia at Centennial Stadium completed the regular season for the York Region side which led 2-0 at halftime.

Des Humphrey opened the scoring for the Shooters at 27 minutes and defender Alex Trujillo made it 2-0 just before the break

Toronto Croatia rallied to get back into the game and did so with a goal at 56 minutes by Sven Arapovic and this was followed by a tying goal by forward Niko Pesa. The game ended 2-2.

York Region Shooters ended their regular season with an impressive 13-4-7 record for 46 points, while Toronto Croatia have a game remaining with London City and are presently in 8th position with 30 points from a 7-7-9 record. Both teams are in the playoffs.

A rescheduled Toronto Croatia vs. London City game, held up due to the congested schedule, is expected to be announced Saturday. The playoffs will kickoff next week with the first leg of a home and away quarterfinal. The final will be played at Centennial Stadium on Sunday, October 31.
