Attendance was about 200 on this warm evening with a bright sun for the first half. The game was delayed half and hour as both teams had brought their yellow uniforms. The general manager of the Hitmen had to drive home and get their white strip as their alternates were in the wash after their Friday night game in London.
Plenty of chances for both teams but the goaltending by Astros Luciano Miranda and Hitmen's Paolo Ceccarelli was good. I was ready for some hometown teams scoring goals after being exasperated at the Lynx game less than two hours earlier.
Visiting referee Cal David from Alberta had a rough time as he couldn't please either team with his calls in this rough tackling game.
Hitmen defender Mike Stalteri confirmed he is Canadian International Paul's brother although just before I got within 6 feet to ask that question it appeared obvious. He looks like Paul did in his Lynx era days.
