Sep 11, 2002

OSHAWA - The Durham Flames evened their record at 6-6-2 and kept their playoff hopes alive with a 3-1 win over the Vaughan Sun Devils Saturday at Civic Stadium.

Jamal Jupiter scored twice for the Flames, who now have a huge home-and-home set with the York Region Shooters coming up this weekend - in York Friday and in Oshawa Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Flames remain in fifth place in the Canadian Professional Soccer League's Eastern Conference, one point back of both the Shooters and Montreal Dynamites, who are currently tied for the third and final playoff spot, and four back of the second-place Metro Lions.

Montreal has played 12 games, the Lions 13, the Flames and Shooters 14.
