Final Score: Hamilton Thunder 2 Toronto Supra 2

Highlights:
First game of the season from both teams and the rust really showed. The first half was a chippy afair with both teams recieving their share of yellow cards. Supra looked to have lost their legs fairly early and weren't marking too closely. This allowed Thunder's Sukru to walk in and blast a vicious shot into the corner of the net. Hamilton carried most of the play in the first half and were denied a few times by the Supra keeper. The second half started much the same with chippy play and a general disrespect for each other. Against the grain Supra equalised with a nice drive from the wing. TS #2 was shortly thereafter dismissed with his second red card. With one man down, Supra carried the play and moved into the lead with a well crafted cross into the box which DiLuca calmly burried. As time wound down, the game started to fall into a fairly rough typical CPSL game. However, in the dying seconds, Hamilton finally equalised on a brilliant cross into the box which was headed into the corner by Leggett.

Players to watch: Supra goalie, Supra forward DiLuca, Thunder outside midfielders, Thunder forward Simpson

Players to avoid: Supra #2 (Fabio!!!!!), and Thunder goalie Ferrari.

Commentary:
Typical CPSL game that had it's moments. There were many new faces in the Thunder roster and they missed the leadership provided by ex-players Gallagher and Perri. Hamilton does not really stand a chance with the "kid" as their 'keeper and we almost started this chant:"Bring back Perri!!!" The local crowd was fair sized (couple 100) but mostly quiet throughout, except for one nicely vocal section.

So this was game 1 for me this season. I purchased a seasons pass to the Thunder's home games and will try to attend all of the Roma Wolves home games as well. It works out that i'm only about 25mins from Brian Timmis Stadium and Roma Park!

Cheers,
Lazyboy.
