LIONS HAND HITMEN 3-1 SET-BACK

Brampton Hitmen suffered a set-back in their bid for Western Conference honours in the Canadian Professional Soccer League Thursday night, losing 3-1 to Metro Lions at Birchmount Stadium in Scarborough.

In the CPSL on Wednesday night, forward Joey Todaro scored with just seconds remaining to salvage a 3-3 tie for Vaughan Sun Devils against St. Catharines Wolves in a see-saw end-to-end struggle at Club Roma in St. Catharines.

Craig Patton led the way for Metro Lions in scoring two goals, at the 2nd. and 45th minute mark, while Lions'Maxim Dorneval scored also in the first half at 8 minutes for a 3-0 score at half-time.

Sean Roberts struck the lone Brampton goal at 54 minutes.

The Hitmen still lead the Western Conference with a 7-2-3 WLT record for 24 points, while Metro Lions pick-up their second league win of the season and now stand at 2-7-3 for nine points in the east.
