KICK IT UP A NOTCH WITH YOUR HOMETOWN PRO SOCCER HEROES ON MAY 10TH!
 
Kick off the spring season  with an outing to the Toronto Lynx/Montreal Impact Home Opener 
on Saturday May 10th 4:00 at Centennial Park Stadium!
 
As the Lynx go into their seventh season of showcasing fine pro soccer talent in the A-League, 
the rivalries between the strong clubs in the North East Division are heating up with the 
entry of the Syracuse Salty Dogs as an expansion team. This home opener promises to 
be an exciting match with the Impact and the Lynx both fielding some very experienced
talent and exciting new names.
 
All Lynx fans in attendance for the Opener will receive a 2003 schedule magnet courtesy of
Lynx sponsor Bic Inc. Pre-game ceremonies will see entertainment from variety of community
groups true to the grassroots nature of Lynx games. The National Anthem is being sung by 
Neil Wadhvana, the six year old who made headlines when Queen Elizabeth visited Toronto 
last October. Toronto Mayoral candidate, John Nunziata, who has children of his own playing 
the world's game and is a big Lynx fan, will be on hand to perform the celebrity kick.
 
As an example of a closer working relationshp between the Pro clubs in the A-League and the 
Canadian Soccer Association, the Lynx will be hosting refereees at the Opener as part of the 
National Clinic for Referees that is taking place in Toronto all weekend long. The 
Toronto/Montreal game will be used for a formal analysis for referees and is being promoted 
by the CSA nationally.  Referees will have the opportunity to witness first hand a pro soccer 
match which will be followed by a post-game analysis. Referees are invited to go to the CSA
and OSA websites for details of this special event.
 
The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association has also partnered with the Toronto Lynx to bring
out college and university soccer fans out in support for pro soccer in our city. In 
addition to these community partners, the Scouts of Greater Toronto and the Girl Guides
will also be holding their official outing to this home game. Look for girl guides at the game
selling their deliciours cookies!
 
As part of the Ultimate Goal Program for Youth Soccer Clubs, the Durham Ontario Soccer 
Club, the Islington Rangers Soccer League and the Burlington Soccer Club are some of 
the first clubs in 2003 that will be making the trip to Centennial Stadium and will be 
participate in dynamic fashion at the game.
 
Lynx fans can expect increased food concessions at the game; greater mechandise 
selections from the Lynx New Equipment sponsor, Inaria in addition to other off the 
field activities.
 
Tickets at the gate are $15/adult adn $7.50/youth and seniors. Advance group orders
( 20+) are available for $10/adult adn $5/youth & seniors. Lawn seating is also available
for advance group orders only at a flat ticket price of $5/youth, senior and adults. Place
