Match Summary: The Toronto Lynx completed a sweep of the A-League's Western Canadian clubs with a 2-0 victory over the Storm in Calgary today. After defeating Vancouver 2-1 on Saturday, the Lynx have evened their record at 6-6-3 with 21 points on the season. Striker, Ali Ngon opened the scoring for the Lynx in the 6th minute, his third goal in the past 2 games and team leading 5th goal of the season. Midfielder, Nikki Vignjevic secured the result in the 17th minute with his second goal of the season, both in the past three games. The Lynx offense looks to have come alive on this trip, as they scored multiple goals in back-to-back games for the first time this season. The defense was solid once again, with goalkeeper Theo Zagar recording his 5th shutout of the season. The win vaults the Lynx past idle Syracuse and Pittsburgh into 3rd place in the tough Northeast Division and to within 6 points of first place Montreal and 5 points of second place Rochester for the final playoff spot. With the win, the Lynx have taken firm hold of second place in the Voyageurs Cup standings with a record of 2-1-0 for 6 points. Montreal leads the "unofficial Canadian championship" at 3-0-0 for 9 points, with Calgary and Vancouver yet to record a point and sitting at 0-2-0. The Lynx wrap up their 3-game road trip in Rochester on Friday, July 4th at 8:00pm in the first of a home-and-home weekend battle with the Raging Rhinos that will move to Toronto on Sunday, July 6th at 6:00pm and have serious playoff implications.
