HITMEN SWAMP DURHAM STORM 8-0

Brampton Hitmen, led by three goals from forward Paul Daccobert and two by midfielder Bayete Smith, overwhelmed Durham Storm 8-0 at Victoria Park in Brampton Sunday afternoon, the only game played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League. It was the second 8-0 loss by the Durham Region team in three days after losing by the same score to Toronto Croatia on Friday night.

Brampton captain Phil Ionadi opened the scoring against Durham Storm on Sunday with a goal at 6 minutes, Bayete Smith added a second five minutes later and forward Kurt Mella struck a third at 41 minutes for a 3-0 score at the break.

Paul Daccobert scored his first of three for 4-0 at 61 minutes, defender Milodrag Akmadzic hit the fifth Brampton goal four minutes later, Daccobert scored his second for 6-0 at 70 minutes, Smith struck his second for 7-0 one minute later and Daccobert completed his hat-trick at 78 minutes for the 8-0 final score.

The win lifts the Hitmen to third position in the Western Conference standings with a 6-6-5 record for 23 points, six behind Hamilton Thunder and four in arrears of Border Stars. Brampton Hitmen have three regular league games remaining, all at home.
