June 26, 2004 CPSL Canada Cup Canada Day weekend (from CPSL site)


The Open Canada Cup takes on special significance during the Canada Day weekend which runs from Thursday, July 1 to Sunday, July 4, when the surviving amateur teams take on the CPSL pros in Round Two of a competition that continues each long holiday weekend through to the final game on Labour Day, September 6.

Two Preliminary Round games will also be played during the Canada Day weekend and the complete Open Canada Cup schedule announced by the Canadian Professional Soccer League looks like this:

Friday July 2 Cove Road 5:00pm Brampton Hitmen vs North York Astros

Friday July 2 Cove Road 8:38pm London City vs Hamilton Thunder

Saturday July 3 Cove Road 3:00pm Capital City Ambassadors vs 777 S.C. or Peniche

Sunday July 4 Cove Road 5:30pm Toronto Supra vs. Ottawa St. Anthony Italia or London Portuguese

Sunday July 4 Soccer Centre 8:00pm Vaughan Shooters vs. G. S. United

Sunday July 4 Cove Road 8:38pm Real Vaughan vs. Metro Lions

When this schedule is completed, the competition will be down to the last eight, or quarter finals which takes place during the Civic Holiday weekend, July 30 to August 2.

The semi-finals will be played during the Labour Day weekend, September 3 to 5, with the final on Monday, September 6.
