SUPRA’S LLEWELLIN HITS FIVE GOALS OVER WEEKEND

Season’s first hat-trick in 8-2 victory over North York Astros

Pickering native Adrian Llewellin, a 22 year-old midfielder with Toronto Supra, romped through the opposing defence to score the first hat-trick of the new season in an 8-2 demolition of North York Astros at Centennial Stadium in Toronto’s west-end Sunday.

The hat-trick follows Llewellin’s two goals in Supra’s 4-2 win over Durham Storm on Friday night.

In two other games played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League Sunday, Laval Dynamites shutout Durham Storm 2-0 at the Bois-de-Boulogne Stadium in Laval and Vaughan Shooters came from behind to hold Brampton Stallions to a 3-3 tie at Victoria Park in Brampton.

Llewellin opened the scoring for Toronto Supra at the 4th minute, adding two more at 46 and 48 minutes, while Supra captain Danny Amaral struck two at the 50th and 72nd minute, with Daniel Nascimento (67 minutes), Frederico Araya (75 minutes) and Fabio Silva (85 minutes) adding singles. Lucas Diaz and Ilya Orlov scored for North York Astros at 19 and 64 minutes respectively.

Mohamed Ridovani scored both goals for Laval Dynamites in the 2-0 victory over Durham Storm, the goals coming at 64 and 79 minutes for Laval’s first win of the season.

Hugo Herrera opened the scoring at 8 minutes for Brampton Stallions in their 3-3 tie with Vaughan Shooters, but Vaughan’s Stalin Cardenas tied the game at 32 minutes for a 1-1 score at the interval. Joey Todaro put Shooters 2-1 in front at 50 minutes and Herrera tied the game 2-2 for Brampton at the 68th minute mark. Mladen Dikic made it 3-2 for the Stallions at 77 minutes and Jason De Thomasis scored the tying goal for Vaughan Shooters two minutes later.
