STALLIONS HOLD LONDON CITY 3-3 ON STORMY FRIDAY
Friday - August 19, 2005

London City and Brampton Stallions played to a 3-3 tie in a Western Conference clash at Cove Road Friday, a game that saw the lead change hands going into the closing stages when the home side scored the equalizer with just seven minutes to go.

The game avoided severe weather conditions that caused another Friday game to be postponed and one game scheduled for Saturday to be called off.

London City took a commanding 2-0 lead with goals from Robbie Della-Croce at 7 minutes and midfielder Karim Ben Sari at 31 minutes, then Brampton's Hugo Herrera at 42 minutes and Milodrag Akmadzic at one minute to the interval came back to tie the score 2-2 going into the second half.Kurt Mella broke the deadlock to give the Stallions a 3-2 lead at the 66th minute mark and at 83 minute Keith Andrew headed the London City equalizer for a 3-3 final score.

With torrential rains in scattered pockets of Southern Ontario on Friday afternoon postponements became inevitable.

Two games have so far been postponed--the Durham Storm vs. Toronto Croatia game scheduled for Oshawa Civic Stadium on Friday night was postponed, and the Toronto Supra vs. Laval Dynamites game scheduled for Saturday night at Brockton Stadium in Toronto's west end, was also called off due to wet ground conditions.

No other weekend games appeared to be in danger during Friday night and there will be further advice on ground conditions together with the game reports as games are played over the weekend.

London City now have a 5-7-4 WLT record for third place in the west, while Brampton Stallions move into fourth position with a 4-4-5 record for 17 points, tied with St. Catharines Wolves but with a slightly superior goal average.
