LATE GOAL SAVES ASTROS AT LAVAL SATURDAY
Saturday - August 27, 2005

A perfect header just inside the post by North York Astros' midfielder Janarthan Sadacharalingam with just four minutes to the final whistle gave his team a 1-1 tie with Laval Dynamites at the Bois-de Boulogne Stadium in the only game played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League Saturday.

Sadacharalingam's timely goal came from a free kick just outside the Laval penalty box and it came after the Quebec team looked like taking all points following a goal by Nassom Theosmy when he beat North York goalkeeper Arthur Zaslavski with a well-placed strike from 16 yards at 69 minutes.

Zaslavski kept the Toronto team in the game with several key saves and was the most outstanding player on the field.

Laval improve to a 8-3-2 WLT record for 26 points, good for third place in the Eastern Conference and 10 points in front of fourth place Astros with their 5-10-1 record for 16 points.
