1st Half:...game starts 3:13pm...All Stars defend east end with the sun in the south west on this warm afternoon. The playing surface is field turf but is marked with distracting Canadian tackle football lines which actually makes it easier for me to judge the distance of shots.

4 min...AS Viciknez 30 yard freekick from right one-bounces to sprawling goalie.
6 min...CPSL All Stars Sasa Viciknez GOAL...AS Peter Curic rolls ball past defender to charging Viciknez at 30 yards and he ran to 15 yards and rolls ball under goalie Peter Cherrie sprawling at 10 yards.

The referee noticed some pushing on the edge of the AS box as players waited for a Clyde freekick from 30 yards. He called the players over to the sideline so he could hear from referee's assistant Roecken. He then gave both players Yellow cards.

Attendance was about 200 people. The game was fairly even early on but Clyde dominated the second half. The All Stars momentum never could build where in the last 25 minutes they tried to bring all their substitutes into the game to say they'd played. The is one of problems with All Star teams--some of these players had come a long way to get to this game. This is still the preseason which is tough enough to get plays coordinated on their own teams. Clyde has just come off their season in the Scottish First Division which just ended a little over a week ago.
This was a pretty rough game. I counted nine cards with the help of the officials at the end of the game. I'm still in preseason mode as I'd thought the cards at 61 minutes were Red. Must have been the bright sun glinting off them. Word came back to the press box in the first half that the coach of Clyde threatened to pull his team off the field if the rough stuff wasn't toned down.
Both countries National Anthems were played but someone had programmed the three-verse version of 'God Save The Queen'. "Well she just had her 80th birthday, she deserved it", I said after it was over.
Raffle ticket winner of the rather scuffed up game ball autographed by the Clyde team was Cindy DeThomasis who is co-owner of the Italia Shooters.
