3 min...Toronto Croatia Tommy Ples GOAL...TC Hayden Fitzwilliams runs down left and crosses to right where charging TC Antonijo Zupan on right hits right post from 10 yards on sharp angle and ball deflects to center of box for Ples to make 3 yard tap-in into empty net as goalie Andrew Olivieri was down.

Attendance was about 75 on this very hot and humid evening. Maybe a triple header of World Cup soccer games kept people away tonight. What a difference from last Friday night’s game when it was cold and windy.

Croatia forward Tommy Ples had two chances to score the winner in the last ten minutes but was off target. Caswain Mason had a late chance saved and a long shot well wide left. Dynamites had the final chance in injury time with a player missing an open net by popping a 10 yard header over the net when he received a cross from the right of box.

Both goalies had to be sharp to either catch or punch away crosses into their box.

The south end of Memorial Park now has a fence (just installed within the last week) separating the field from the forest which helps keep some of the balls from being lost however in play there were balls shot so far wide of the net that they still missed the fence and one deflected over the fence. The mosquitoes were out tonight from the woods in the south and the west but it didn’t seem to catch anyone off guard as both teams and the announcer and I had brought but repellent.

Laval only listed three subs and one of them was a spare goalie. They have a game tomorrow afternoon against the Blue Devils in Oakville. Toronto Croatia has to play Italia Shooters at the Soccer Centre tomorrow evening.
