Wolves, Serbians tie

St. Catharines Wolves and Serbian White Eagles fought to a 1-1 tie at Club Roma Wednesday night, the only game played in the Canadian Soccer League.

Midfielder Nick Aragona opened the scoring for the home side at the 39th minute mark after collecting a pass from Danny Gallagher to fire the ball past Serbian goalkeeper Arthur Zaslavski, recently acquired from North York Astros following the departure of Dusan Belic.

But it took just two minutes for Eagles to draw level when Dragan Radovic tapped in from close range past Wolves’ goalkeeper Claudio Perri at 41 minutes.

Both sides fought hard for the winner during the second half, but both teams failed to find the net and the score held for a 1-1 tie.

St. Catharines improve to 3-1-2 WLT for 11 points, tied for top spot in the National Division, while Serbian White Eagles are at 4-2-1 for 13 points, in second position and 10 points in arrears of International Division leaders Italia Shooters.
