TFC Academy's Senior Team fell to a 3-1 defeat against Brampton Lions in the Canadian Soccer League. TFC Academy remain on eight points from six matches with a record of 2-2-2.

The game started negatively for TFC after a free kick was awarded just outside the box after only three minutes. 2008 CSL MVP Daniel Nascimento stepped up and curled the ball over the wall and into the goal to give Brampton an early lead.

Midfielder Agustin Demedina scored Brampton's second goal at 36 minutes for a 2-0 score at the interval and forward David Guzman made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half. In the 59th minute, TFC Academy Senior Team Head Coach Jason Bent made three substitutions in an effort to get back into the game. Substitute Daniel Calabretta scored with a 20 yard strike within a minute of entering the pitch to make it 3-1, but although TFC went on to create numerous chances and put the opposition on the back foot for the remainder of the match, they were able to close the deficit further.

"We made another poor start to the match and also to begin the second half," said Bent. "Lately we have been putting ourselves behind the eight ball right from the beginning and leaving ourselves with a difficult task to get back into the match. Against any opposition we must be 100% mentally focused for matches."

"I feel we are suffering in this particular department at the moment and need to rectify the situation quickly. In saying that, we have still created five or six glorious chances that on another day could have seen us score three goals. The higher the level, the more importance you place on taking your chances because if you fail to take your opportunities it will always come back to haunt you."
