St. Catharines Wolves were held to a scoreless tie by London City in the only game played in the CSL Wednesday night and earlier in the day the league released its revised weekend schedule.
While it was a game played mostly in the midfield at Club Roma, St. Catharines, where visiting London City held the Wolves to a scoreless tie, the lack of goals can also be attributed to the strong play of Claudio Perri in the St. Catharines goal and newcomer Matt Baca, the ‘keeper for London City.
It was the confident play of Perri that prevented London from scoring on several occasions, while Baca was called upon more frequently to make saves that kept the 0-0 score intact.
St. Catharines improve to a 3-1-4 WTL record for 13 points as a result of the tie, five less than National Division leaders Trois-Rivieres Attak, while London City moved out of the cellar position with a 0-6-2 record for two points.
There will be no games played in the CSL on Friday night as a result of the Serbian White Eagles vs. Trois-Rivieres Attak game being moved to Downsview Park on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., and the Attak will play North York Astros on Saturday, also at Downsview Park with a revised kickoff time of 5 p.m.
The Astros vs. Attak game is televised tape-delayed in Toronto on Rogers TV at 8 p.m. Saturday night.
