Italia took the lead at the 9th minute mark on an own-goal when Astros’ defender Alex Kawalit put the ball into his own net. Italia forward Kadian Lecky made it 2-0 five minutes later and Lecky scored a second goal and the third for Italia Shooters at 32 minutes for a 3-0 lead at half-time.

Italia Shooters improve to a 4-5-1 WLT record for 13 points and third place in the International Division, while North York Astros remain in fifth place in the National Division with a 1-7-1 record for four points.

There is one game remaining in the CSL this weekend, it’s TFC Academy at home to Portugal FC at Downsview Park, a game relocated from Esther Shiner Stadium which is closed during the Toronto civic workers strike. That game will kickoff at 3 p.m.
