August 19, 2009 CSL St Catharines Wolves vs Toronto Croatia (from CSL news release)

TORONTO CROATIA STILL WITHOUT A LOSS FOLLOWING A SCORELESS TIE AT ST. CATHARINES............but International Division lead precarious and may change hands Friday, the first of three games this weekend
2009-08-19

Toronto Croatia maintained their unbeaten record with a scoreless tie against St. Catharines Wolves at Club Roma, St. Catharines on Wednesday night and while doing so the Mississauga-based team also kept their goals-against record at a remarkably low seven in the 12 games played during the current regular season campaign.

It was an entertaining encounter despite the lack of goals as both teams fought to find the net and each team succeeded once in the second half, but both goals were ruled offside.

Each team also hit the post to provide some optimism that the stalemate would be broken as the game progressed, but the game ended with St. Catharines tying their seventh game of the season, and Toronto Croatia is still without a loss.

St. Catharines now have a 3-3-7 WLT record for 16 points, that’s good for fourth place in the National Division, while the International Division leaders now have a 8-0-4 record for 28 points, two ahead of Serbian White Eagles who occupy the second spot.

Serbian White Eagles have an opportunity to take over the International Division with a victory over Brampton Lions on Friday night, while a Toronto Croatia win on Sunday would assure that team of a lead position on Sunday night.

There are three games in the CSL this weekend:
