Toronto FC U19 Academy team won their Canadian Soccer League opening match on Friday, defeating Montreal Impact Academy 3-1 with Stefan Vukovic notching
a hat-trick.

Toronto FC supporters were in full force at Lamport Stadium to watch the U19 Academy control the Impact.

“The 12th man on the pitch by far was home support, it was such a great sight for the boys to see and they were nervous during the warm-up. This only
helps our development of the young lads, so a massive thank you is extended to the fans in attendance who stayed until the end,” said Director of the
Academy Stuart Neely.

Newcomer to the Academy, head coach Danny Dichio was extremely pleased with the outcome and how the boys banded together under the club's 'All For
One' motto.

“Tonight was a nervous start and being down a goal in the fourth minute was the last thing I wanted, but it appeared to settle us in a way. We battled
back to gain control of specific moments in the match and it certainly helped us when Tristan Jackman broke down their defence with a mesmerizing run
and Stefan Vukovic scored the tieing goal from that.”

Vukovic scored again on the stroke of halftime on a through ball from Sergio Camargo and he calmly lifted it over the keeper for a quality finish.
Going in 2-1 at halftime against a well organized Impact side was uplifting for the young Reds. Kevin Aleman was brought into the match to add some flare
and bite into the attack as well as defensive pressure on the ball. Only 15 minutes into Aleman's introduction, the Canada U-17 international, set-up
Vukovic for his third of the night.

The young reds take on Mississauga Eagles SC Sunday May 8th, 8:00pm at Centennial Stadium.
