LONDON CITY WASHED OUT IN LONDON AS WET WEATHER CUTS INTO WEEKEND GAMES Thursday, May 26, 2011 The wet weather has cut into the weekend games in the Canadian Soccer League with two games washed out at Cove Road in London. The London City vs. Brampton City Utd first division encounter scheduled for Friday night at 8.38 pm has been postponed and so has the Sunday afternoon London City B vs. St. Catharines Wolves B game scheduled to go at 4 pm. This is a clash of two reserve teams in the CSL Second Division, also known as the CSL Reserve Division. There are still eight games being played in the First Division, beginning with a single game on Friday night between Serbian White Eagles and York Region Shooters, a game televised live on Rogers TV. These two teams opened the season at the St. Joan of Arc ground in Maple on May 8, with Serbian Eagles emerging with a 1-0 victory. Capital City FC of Ottawa make their first visit to Toronto by playing back-to-back games against TFC Academy at Lamport Stadium in the city’s west end on Saturday night, then on to Mississauga for a visit to the Hershey Centre where the Ottawa team meets Mississauga Eagles FC. London City will play one game this weekend when they visit Esther Shiner Stadium for a game with the Astros on Sunday evening at 6, and an interesting match always is Sunday’s Toronto Croatia vs. Serbian White Eagles First Division game, the last game of the weekend which is being played at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke. That goes at 8 pm.
