MONTREAL ACADEMY VICTORY MEANS TOP POSITION - GALAXY ALSO WIN AND THERE ARE TWO TIES IN CSL SUNDAY ACTION 

Montreal Impact Academy jumped to the top of the CSL First Division with a 3-1 victory over TFC Academy Sunday and in three other games Brantford 
Galaxy defeated Mississauga Eagles FC 2-1, Capital City FC were held to a scoreless tie by York Region Shooters and North York Astros remain winless 
following a 1-1 tie with Brampton City Utd.

Montreal Impact Academy opened the scoring at the Saputo Stadium Sunday afternoon on a goal by forward Victor N;Diaye at the 30th minute mark and 
Karl Ouimette made it 2-0 at 42 minutes.

TFC midfielder Michael Wagenknecht struck for Toronto at 45 minutes, a 2-1 score at the interval. 

Montreal Academy forward Michelot Hiacynthe increased the lead to 3-1 at 56 minutes  and that score remained to the final whistle. 

It was Montreal’s sixth win of the season to put the Quebec side on top of the CSL First Division with 20 points, one point ahead of York Region Shooters.

A win by the Shooters would have put the York Region side on top, by they were held  to a scoreless tie with Capital City FC at the Terry Fox Stadium 
in Ottawa.

York Region Shooters goalkeeper Camilo Benzi made several key saves to keep Capital City off the scoresheet, including a penalty taken by Andre Manders 
after Junior Ellis of Capital City was taken down in the box at the 82nd mark.

The tie increased the unbeaten streak for Capital City FC to seven games.

North York Astros were also held to a tie at home, a 1-1 result at Esther Shiner Stadium, a game from which the Astros were looking for their first 
win of the season.

Brampton took the lead at 56 minutes following a well played scoreless first half, a goal at 56 minutes by Kevan Omokhua, but the Astros drew level 
at 75 minutes when Rei Ishakawa collected the ball after being challenged by Brampton ‘keeper Roy Blanche outside the box. Ishakawa collected the loose 
ball which he placed into the empty net and the 1-1 score held to the end.

Ranko Golijanin opened the scoring for Brantford Galaxy in the evening game against Mississauga Eagles FC at Lions Park in Brantford, he scored from 
the penalty spot at 47 minutes after referee Andrew Kravets pointed to the spot for hand ball.

Galaxy forward Patryk Misik increased the lead just 30 seconds after he entered the field as a substitute. The goal came at 88 minutes when midfielder 
Nenad Begovic took a throw-in sending Misik towards goal. He promptly beat Eagles’ goalkeeper Melford James Jr. for a 2-0 Brantford lead.

Mississauga reduced the lead to 2-1 with just seconds remaining when midfielder David Guzman struck the bar from a free kick at 22 yards, the ball 
rebounded to  Gregoire Akcelrod to score for the visitors, a 2-1 result.

There was a delay of 19 minutes in the second half due to the game being held up following an injury to Mississauga forward Dave Simpson who was taken 
to the local hospital for examination.
