SERBIAN EAGLES STAY IN TOUCH WITH 1-0 VICTORY AND BRAMPTON CITY UTD ALSO WIN SUNDAY Serbian White Eagles scored a narrow but important 1-0 victory over Mississauga Eagles FC to stay within striking distance of the leaders in the CSL First Division and in one other game, Brampton City Utd defeated Brantford Galaxy also by a 1-0 score, two games in the CSL Sunday. Serbian Eagles went into the game with Mississauga with just one loss, a 1-0 score in favour of Toronto Croatia on May 29 and having conceded just four goals in the seven games played so far. It was a goal at 17 minutes by midfielder Milos Scepanovic that was enough to give the visitors the victory in a well-played game at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga to improve the Serbian Eagles to a 4-1-3 WLT record for 15 points. In a similar even contest, Brampton City Utd picked up three points from a goal by midfielder Andy Garcia at the 43rd minute when he pushed a loose ball into the net just two yards from the goal line at Lions Park in Brantford. It was the Galaxy’s second defeat of the weekend followed a 4-1 loss the SC Toronto at Lamport Stadium on Canada Day. Brantford lost two players in the game when midfielder Sasa Midovic was shown a red card by referee Mack Meloche following a second caution at 40 minutes and midfielder Nenad Begovic was dismissed following a second caution near the end.
