There's lots of YRS offsides the entire second half expecially after the subs were made.

Attendance was about 90 fans with 30 of them TFC supporters who had waited around the Liberty Village area after the MLS Toronto FC won the Nutrilite Canadian Championship game over Vancouver which ended at around 2:30pm. They watched the game from the east stands. Their fireworks didn't show up as it wasn't dark yet.

Somewhat of a low scoring result as the CSL leading scorer Stefan Vukovic of TFCA had 8 goals and Kadian Lecky of the Shooters was next with 6 goals before today's game. Camilo Benzi earned the shutout for the Shooters.

Andrew Kravets was the referee today and gave out five Yellow cards today in a well played game with lots of end to end action.

TFCA had chance after chance in the second half but couldn't get the tie while the Shooters started to be caught in offsides almost to double digits in the second half even when they double subbed Desmond Humphrey and Kadian Lecky with Aundrae Rollins and Stalin Cardenas.

Best opportunities was at 70 minutes when TFCA Sergio Camargo received a pass at 8 yards from Stefan Vukovic and YRS Rick Titus* made an all-ball sliding tackle to strip the ball away without a shot being taken. At 75 minutes Vukovic took a 30 yard shot that the goalie standing out at 4 yards palmed onto the bar and a defender cleared it away. Shooters best chance (as most others were offside) was at 62 minutes when Desmond Humphrey took a 30 yard freekick from the left that had a YRS player hit the bar and then YRS Matthew O'Connor with the goalie standing headed a 4 yarder over the bar.

*Rick Titus listed as age 42 on Wikipedia and still rock solid on defence.

It was a hot evening with no official water breaks but a funny moment occured when at 36 minutes play was resumed after a time out when YRS Ali Hanam was injured and it caught about seven TFCA players over on the sidelines suddenly scrambling for positions leaving only about three players to cope with a rush in from center.

TFCA look to improve as they received their players back from Canada's U-17 World Cup team that finished three and out. Michael Petrasso, and Omari Morris were starters today and Jay Chapman, Sergio Camargo and goalie Chad Bush were on the subs bench. Goalie Quillan Roberts, Tyler Pasher, and Parker Seymour were not here although it is possible that they play for the TFCA Reserves division team. Roberts definitely plays for the Juniors.

The result of another game was known before this game was started—Montreal Impact Academy beat North York Astros 7-2 to take over first place in the standings. This meant the Shooters couldn't take over first place today with their win. Also we heard that Toronto Croatia had won their tournament against other Croatian teams (including the final against Canberra Australia Croatia) from around the world. This year the tourney was held in Croatia. Hamilton Croatia had argued that they should have been in that (subsidized) tourney as they had a better record in the CSL standings last year but Toronto was invited because they were the defending champions. Also the sad news of the death of Bruno Pilas who passed away on June 11th who was a player on the championship NASL Toronto Metros-Croatia team. Something like 500 people at the funeral including 11 players from that 1976 team.
