88 min...SWE Sasa Vukoje GOAL...SWE Kirie Dimitrov on right passes from 35 yards over to charging Vukoje who from 18 yards rushes to 12 yards on left and shoots low shot that sliding goalie gets piece of but ball trickles into right corner of net.
90 min...SWE Crozier rush down right and crosses 25 yarder that's caught by goalie.
91 min...SWE Dimitrov cross from 25 yards near right end line and W Gallagher heads over end line.
92 min...SWE Vukoje rush on break down left and 25 yard shot has sliding goalie stop at 10 yards and SWE Anastasov follow up with 25 yard rushed shot just over bar.

Final Score:.......Serbian White Eagles........7...........St Catharines Wolves........1......

Attendance was about 200 on this hot night. The Serb Ultras didn't start singing until just before 65 minutes. I don't know if they were late getting here or just wanted to make certain White Eagles were going to win. I was about as shocked as SWE had only scored 9 goals in 9 games up to tonight (but only letting in 5 which is why they had a record of 4-1-4 until tonight). Reminds me of MLS Philadelphia Union coming to play Toronto FC and winning 6-2.

Best non-scoring plays (it could have been double digits!) were at 9 minutes when SWE Dimitrov ran to the 25 yard line on the left then ran along that line towards the middle and cut a shot just over the bar. At 28 minutes SWE Selvin Lammie was bumped off the ball at 6 yards after he'd flicked a pass to himself between two defenders. At 39 minutes in what might have turned the game or at least stemmed the tide, Wolves Danny Gallagher crossed from the right and Carlo Giovannini kick a 12 yarder down the middle but just wide left of the post. At 41 minutes Dimitrov rushed on the left and crossed to Lammie who rolled a 10 yard shot that hit the left post and a defender cleared. At 60 minutes SWE Braletic chipped a 12 yarder near the right end line that was over the goalie's head but he turned around and caught it on the bounce near the left post.

Wolves had started the first few weeks of the season in first place but have free fallen down to eleventh. Their last game before this was Wednesday night when Mississauga Eagles travelled to St Catharines and beat them 4-0. Manager Armand DiFruscio said that except for the first game of the year, they've never had the same lineup with injuries and Red cards necessitating changes each game. Head coach Carlo Arghittu subbed himself into the game in first half injury time. Players were complaining to referee Richard Oliviera and the referee's assistants for continuous White Eagles breakaways they insisted should have been called offside.

White Eagles were playing without defender Mirko Medic who was sitting out for accumulating Yellow cards but their defence held up well. Tall Mark Jankovic stopped some cornerkicks himself with timely headers to break up chances. Milos Vucinic was not only an outside back but also made some offensive runs down the left wing. Andre Orlando and Nikola Pavnic were the other defenders.

Young 17 year old Sasa Vukoje came into the game at 81 minutes replacing hat trick scoring Alex Braletic and within a minute scored his first goal (and his second six minutes after that). SWE officials said this was his first game with the main team and that last year he played for their Reserves league team.

I thought the best player was Kirie Dimitrov with long runs up the wing, great passes and crosses right into the box. He was making up for the absent Milos Scepanovic.
