July 31, 2011 CSL--details of Sunday's games (from CSL website)

SC TORONTO ON TOP - TORONTO CROATIA ALSO WIN WHILE BRAMPTON AND SERBIAN EAGLES TIE 3-3

SC Toronto moved to the top of the CSL First Division following a 2-0 victory over Capital City FC, Toronto Croatia edged Brantford Galaxy 1-0 and
in one other game played in the CSL Sunday, Brampton City Utd forward Richard West scored a hat-trick in a 3-3 tie with Serbian White Eagles

The win by SC Toronto at the Terry Fox Stadium also snapped a remarkable unbeaten streak by the Ottawa team playing in its inaugural CSL season,
an unbeaten string that ran for 12 games from May 20 when defeated 2-0 by Toronto Croatia.

Playing without top-scorers Sullivan Silva and William Beague, Capital City pressed early, but failed to score including on a penalty kick. But it was
the visitors who took the lead at 38 minutes when Jarek Whiteman scored his third goal of the weekend – he found the net twice in the 4-0 SC Toronto
victory over Montreal Impact Academy Saturday.

With the score 1-0 at half-time, both teams went on the attack in the second half, but good goalkeeping by the home side’s Clint Irwin and Scott Cliff
for Toronto SC kept the score at one goal.

SC Toronto went ahead 2-0 at 63 minutes on a goal by Kasy Kiarash and that score held to the final whistle.

The win moved Toronto to the top of the standings, one point ahead of Montreal, but with a greater advantage of being four games in hand over the
Quebec side and third place York Region Shooters.

West opened the scoring for Brampton at Victoria Park, a goal at the 6th minute mark and he increased the lead to 2-0 when he placed the ball past
Serbian Eagles goalkeeper Milos Djurkovic from the penalty spot 12 minutes later.

The penalty was given by referee Hassane Rifai following a challenge inside the 18-yard line by Serbian White Eagles’ defender Ricardo Manguia Perez
who was shown the red card for Serious Foul Play.

Eagles’ forward Alex Braletic reduced the lead to 2-1 when he beat Brampton goalkeeper Kodzo Awitor at 20 minutes and West struck his third seven
minutes later for a 3-1 Brampton lead at half-time.

Braletic scored his second goal for Serbian Eagles at 76 minutes for a 3-2 Brampton lead and Sasa Viciknez scored the equalizer from the penalty spot
at 88 minutes for a 3-3 tie.

It was a well-played encounter at Lions Park in Brantford where Brantford Galaxy and Toronto Croatia battled through a scoreless first half, but a goal
at 69 minutes by Toronto Croatia defender Lee Hagerdon was enough in the second half to give the visitors the points.

Hagerdon took the play well into the Brantford penalty area to drive the ball into the bottom left corner past Brantford goalkeeper Vladimir Markotic
from 12 yards.

There were four games in the CSL Second Division over the weekend:
York Region Shooters B 4, North York Astros B 2
Toronto Croatia B 0, St. Catharines Wolves B 0
Niagara United 4, Mississauga Eagles FC B 0
