September 9, 2011 CSL--details of Friday's games (from CSL website)

TIHOMIR MALETIC HITS FOUR

Toronto Croatia striker Tihomir Maletic stole the show at Centennial Stadium Friday with a four-goal effort in a 5-2 defeat of Montreal Impact
Academy, while in one other game in the CSL, Serbian White Eagles gave their playoff hopes a boost with a 3-1 victory over London City.

Maletic opened the scoring at the 20th minute mark when he found the net past Montreal goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau and he scored his second just three
minutes later after being pulled down in the box to score from the penalty spot.

Croatia defender Halburto Harris committed a similar misdemeanour in his penalty box to leave referee Silviu Petrescu no alternative but to point
to the spot and Montreal’s Alessandro Riggi scored for a 2-1 Croatia lead at 31 minutes. That was the score at the break.

Montreal Impact Academy drew level at 56 minutes when midfielder Wandrille Lefevre struck a right foot shot into the top left corner from 15 yards
well out of the reach of Croatia goalkeeper Antonio Ilic, but Maletic scored his third at 60 minutes for a 3-2 Toronto Croatia lead.

One minute later, Lefavre was sent off by referee Petrescu on receiving a second caution.

Maletic scored his fourth from the penalty spot at 93 minutes, a kick that was saved by Crepeau, but Maletic picked up the rebound to place the ball
in the back of the net.

The four goals lifted Maletic`s goal tally to 14 for the season.

Montreal defender Maxim Tissot was shown the red card at 94 minutes and with the visitors reduced to nine men, Toronto Croatia went on to score
a fifth goal on a breakaway with midfielder Tonci Pirija finding the net for a 5-2 final score.

The win allowed Toronto Croatia to keep in touch with league-leading SC Toronto, just four points separating the two teams at the top of the table,
both teams have played 20 games. SC Toronto and Toronto Croatia have both secured a playoff berth for the CSL First Division championship.

Serbian White Eagles put themselves in a better position for a playoff spot by beating London City at The Cove in London and it was
a come-from-behind victory to score three in the second half after being one down at half-time.

London City forward Younan Samra lifted his team and the fans with the opening goal at 17 minutes, a picture goal from 25 yards into the roof of the
net that left Serbian Eagles` goalkeeper Milos Djurkovic with no chance for a save.

The goal held up for a 1-0 London lead at the interval, but Serbian Eagles`defender Mirko Medic scored a rare goal at 57 minutes to tie the game
and two minutes later Sasa Viciknez scored on a free kick from 23 yards to give the Toronto-based team a 2-1 lead.

Serbian Eagles sealed the win at 87 minutes when Milan Rakic beat London goalkeeper Fabian Knezevic for a 3-1 lead, which held to the final whistle.

Serbian White Eagles improve to a 9-5-7 WLT record for 34 points, good for sixth position in the table.
