MONTREAL IMPACT ACADEMY, NIAGARA UNITED WIN SATURDAY...London City vs. Windsor Stars tie 1-1 
 
Montreal Impact Academy and Niagara United both earned victories in Saturday action in the 
Canadian Soccer League, while the London City vs Windsor Stars game rescheduled from 
a June 1 postponement, ended in a 1-1 tie.

Montreal Impact Academy came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat visiting SC Waterloo at the 
St Jean de Vianney ground in Montreal, the opening goal coming from Waterloo’s Harris Fazlagic 
who beat Montreal goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu to finds the net at the 35th minute mark.

Yacine Alt Slimane tied the score 1-1 for Montreal at 57 minutes and striker Stefan Vukovic found 
the net from close in at 75 minutes to give the home side a 2-1 lead.

The visitors were down to 10 men with the send-off of defender Zoran Kukic at 80 minutes, he was 
shown the red card by referee Chris Gobas following a rough challenge and at 90 minutes Montreal 
midfielder Philippe Lincourt Joseph beat Waterloo goalkeeper Imad Hakura to increase the lead 
to 3-1 for the home side, the final score.

The Impact academy side remains unbeaten and moves into second position in the CSL First Division 
standings as a result of the victory.

Windsor Stars were reduced to 10 men after just 11 minutes at Cove Road when defender Michael Chiandussi 
was shown the red card by referee Matt McCready for preventing an obvious goalscoring opportunity, 
but the visitors took the lead when midfielder Stephen Ademolu beat London goalkeeper Zoran Pusica to put 
Windsor Stars into a first-half lead at the 24th minute mark, a 1-0 score at the break.

London tied it up 1-1 on a goal by forward Dalibor Mitrovic, he beat Windsor goalkeeper Anthony Santilli 
at 50 minutes and the score remained to the final whistle.

It was a close encounter at the Invista Sports Stadium in Kingston where the visiting Niagara United side 
took the lead at 26 minutes when defender Anthony Fruci  put the ball past Kingston goalkeeper Morgan 
Kenny off a free kick.

It was the inaugural season for both clubs in the CSL First Division.

Kingston tied the score when Antonios Assaad found the net off a corner kick at the 77th minute mark, 
but just four minutes later Niagara regained the lead on a goal by Ben N’Goran and the visitors 
maintained the 2-1 lead to the final whistle.
