MISSISSAUGA, SERBIAN EAGLES, SC TORONTO AND SHOOTERS ALL WIN....four games kickoff busy CSL weekend  

Mississauga Eagles FC, SC Toronto and Serbian White Eagles all recorded home wins, while York Region 
Shooters scored an away victory, all in the CSL Friday night to kick off a busy weekend schedule.

It was a close encounter at the Hershey Centre where Mississauga Eagles FC edged past SC Waterloo 
midway through the second half to win 3-2 on a tying goal, then a winning goal, by Jose Melo.

Drazen Vukovic opened the scoring for SC Waterloo at the 6th minute, Shaun MacDonald tied the 
game 1-1 one minute later for the home side, but Vukovic came back just two minutes later to beat 
Mississauga goalkeeper Kofi Oppong for the second time, a 2-1 Waterloo lead after nine minutes. 
It was 2-1 at half-time.

Melo broke the game open with a tying goal firstly at 46 minutes, then at the 55th minute mark 
he took a pass from MacDonald to beat Waterloo goalkeeper Imad Hakura and win the game 3-2 
for Mississauga Eagles.

Forward Jarek Whiteman opened the scoring for SC Toronto over Niagara United at Lamport Stadium, 
he struck from inside the box to beat Niagara goalkeeper John De Luca at 14 minutes and Alon Badat 
made it 2-0 at 20 minutes later, the score at the break.

Kyle Hall increased the home lead to 3-0 at 85 minutes and at the final whistle it was 3-0 
in favour of SC Toronto.

It was a close, hard fought first half at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke, with Kingston goalkeeper 
Phill Fernandez making good saves to keep the home side off the scoresheet, but Serbian White Eagles 
defender Misel Klisara broke through at the 67th minute mark to put the home side into a 1-0 lead.

The visitors were playing with 10 men during the second half after losing Olivier Rieutord who was 
shown the red card by referee Michael Izzo following a second caution at the 45th minute mark.

Kingston’s Mademba Ba equalized from the penalty spot at 69 minutes when Serbian Eagles goalkeeper 
Nikola Marojevic brought down Edgar Soglo of Kingston and referee  Izzo had no hesitation in awarding 
the penalty for a 1-1 tie.

Zoran Rajovic struck the winner at 76 minutes when a took a cross from Andre Orlando to beat Fernandez 
from close in, a 2-1 Serbian White Eagles lead that held to the final whistle.

York Region Shooters forward Jason De Thomasis drove a left foot shot into the net after taking a pass 
from Des Humphrey to score the all-important lone goal for the 1-0 away victory over TFC Academy. 
The goal came at 69 minutes of a well-played encounter at Downsview Park and the win lifted the Shooters 
within two points of the league-leading Toronto Croatia.
