Vaughan Azzurri began their much-anticipated matchweek twelve match
against west division powerhouse FC London with purpose, signified
by Dena Iezady's (7') curler to open the scoring for the hosts.

"We started off way too slow for my liking, we shouldn't have to wait
until the 70th minute to turn things on," said Vaughan assistant coach,
Wayne Mills.

"It wasn't the greatest game, we have a lot of things to work
on before our next match."

"This team is still being organized defensively, and if we can
get ourselves organized so we are not allowing two goals than
nine times out of ten we will have a favourable result," he added.

"At the end of the day, these guys know the game and they know how
to play the game. They chose when to turn it on and so this result
is all on them."

The positive start was short-lived however, as FC London began
to come into the game, eventually equalizing through
an Elvir Gigolaj (50') penalty before Stephen Al-Sayed (55')
put London ahead just minutes later.

"I think when I prepared for this match I made a mistake,
and in the first half it was revealed and we needed to adjust
our tactics," said FC London head coach, Mario Despotovic.
"After we adjusted in the second half, I think we started pretty
well and began to get into the game. But then some unlucky
set pieces against us and after that the opponent continued
to press us and we are still learning how to deal with this
kind of pressure."

"It takes time and this is a young team. When you have to control
the thinking and continue with the football actions that were
needed you have to be used to controlling or dealing
with pressure."

Vaughan were in danger of letting the match get away from them,
but rallied late on through Jarek Whiteman (81')
and Daniel Cramarossa (86') to ensure all three points
at the whistle.

"We were kind of getting on each other a little bit, but everyone
woke up in the eightieth minute and we got two quick ones,"
said Whiteman.

"We were lacking composure in the final third, and our
finishing ball. We had some half-chances, but not clear-cut
because we were lacking the quality in the final ball."
