New York Red Bulls II opened the 2018 USL season with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over
Toronto FC II, Saturday at Red Bull Arena.

The win marks the first time in their short four-year history that NYRB II has won
their season-opening match.

In the 11th minute, TFC II opened the scoring as Matthew Srbely snuck behind the
New York defense for the opening goal.

In the 50th minute, Tommy Redding conceded a penalty kick in the box but Evan Louro
stepped up and denied Ben Spencer the opportunity to double TFC’s lead making
a diving save to his right.

12 minutes later in the 62nd minute, NYRB II equalized coming from the foot
of Andrew Tinari, who redirected a Ben Mines shot from outside the 18.

With 31 shots on the night, NYRB II did not stop there, finding the game-winning
goal in the 72nd minute, again from Andrew Tinari, who finished a perfectly
placed ball from Florian Valot across the face of goal.

With the brace on the day, Tinari doubled his career goal scoring total,
one that sat at two.

Ben Mines picked up his second career assist in USL feeding Andrew Tinari’s equalizer.

NYRB II players Kevin Politz, Brian White, Steven Echevarria, Niko De Vera
and Cristian Casseres, Jr. all made their USL pro debuts in today’s match.
