Toronto FC II opened their 2018 USL season with a tough loss on the road to New York Red Bull II.

Matthew Srbely opened the scoring in the 10th minute as he streaked into the box and finished past Evan Louro.
It was Srbely’s first goal at the USL level.

Angelo Cavalluzzo made a pair of great stops in the first half to hold the Red Bulls off the board headed
into the break.

The Reds had a chance to double their lead as Tommy Redding took down Ben Spencer in the box for a penalty.
However, Louro made a great stop on Spencer’s PK effort diving to his right to prevent the goal.

Just minutes after the PK the Red Bulls found the equalizer as a shot from Ben Mines took a deflection off
Andrew Tinari and flew by Cavalluzzo.

Tinari would score another as Florian Valot sent a cross over to the midfielder who smashed home his second
of the match.

Toronto FC II is back in action next weekend as they travel to Charlotte to take on the Independence.
Kickoff on Saturday is set for 7:00 PM.
